2018

Shiraz

This wine is more of a european style.
Really should have labelled it a Syrah for that reason.
Aromas of liquorice spice, white pepper and geranium lead to a palate of subtle dark berries, spice and earthy undertones, with bright natural acidity providing a long and clean finish.
The nose is dark berry, hints of cinnamon and clove (wood spice) and the palate is aniseed, spice, white pepper and silvanberry…

Our 2017 Shiraz was handpicked and sorted in the vineyard, undergoing a four day cold soak before the wild yeast began fermentation and spent 21 days on skins.

Pressed to French oak barrels, with 25% new and the rest 3-4 years old, where it was aged for 15 months on lees. Malolactic fermentation took place in the barrels. This wine is in the style of a continental Shiraz.
